In our last blog, our electrician in Cincinnati, OH went over a couple of tips that will help you to save more energy at the office. To recap, we talked about installing motion sensors and keeping your appliances dust-free. You don’t have to put a whole lot of money or time into a major energy-saving project, there are many small things that you can do that will make a huge impact. The following is a list of a few more energy saving tips for your office:
- Use LED lights – LED lights are truly incredible. A LED has an 80% energy efficiency rating, whereas an incandescent has a mere 20% energy efficiency rating. Although fluorescents are more efficient than incandescent lights, they still can’t compare to LEDs. Not only are they more energy efficient than both fluorescent and incandescent lights, but LED lights are also a lot more durable and they have a much longer lifespan.
- Turn off your surge protectors and unplug appliances at the end of the day – There are many appliances and electrical devices that still leech energy, even when they are turned off or not in use. One of the best ways to deal with this is by simply unplugging things at the end of the day, but we know that the likelihood of that actually happening is slim to none. Luckily, there’s another option, a smart surge protector. Smart surge protectors will automatically cut off power to any device that is turned off while still providing power for the devices that are still on.
